Henry Hyde: Designer, Writer, Podcaster

Design

I’ve been a graphic designer since 1991 and have been involved in countless projects as designer and creative director. These are just a few examples of design projects I have undertaken in different areas.

Please be patient as this page loads lots of images!

“I have published with Penguin, Harper and Hodder & Stoughton and what I truly appreciate with Henry Hyde is that he very swiftly understands the brief. He gets it, sees it, and creates a cover that encapsulates what a title is about and, more importantly, what the author would like to illustrate: Henry creates the meaning of ‘a picture says a thousand words!'”
Colin Turner, Author of the International No. 1 Best-Seller: Born to Succeed and numerous
non-fiction books including The Teachings of Yen Tzu, Secret Service and A Brave New Business World, and fiction Connor Brock Business Thrillers .

Book Jackets – Fiction

“Henry was absolutely amazing! He was great at explaining the process and answering any questions we had about the book design. Communication was top notch and we are extremely happy with the end product. He went above and beyond to get the finished product perfect for us! Would highly recommend!”
Damian Keyes, Author of Stop Selling Music! and  The Rule-Breaker’s Guide to Social Media

Book Jackets – Non-Fiction

“Henry is a pleasure to work with. He takes the time to discuss your requirements and keeps you in the loop at every stage of the design. You feel included at all times. Henry is also exceptionally patient and ensures the end result is exactly what you had envisioned, if not actually better. For my cover designs, Henry is my first stop and last stop!”
Kiltie Jackson, Author of A Rock’n’Roll Lovestyle and An Artisan Lovestyle.

Book Trailers

A recent addition to my portfolio, book trailers are an increasingly important way for authors to get their message out to the public and advertise their work. Price on application – there are a wide range of options available.

Book trailer for Lauren Robinson, The Boy Who Saw In Colours
Using stock footage and music, and the design work I did on the book jacket, I extracted a few passages from the text and had them appear over the ‘doctored’ footage. Note the yellow star and pink triangle moving across the screen, hinting at the abuse of Jewish and gay people perpetrated by the Nazis. It’s a powerful book and needed a powerful trailer – I think we achieved that. Turn your sound up!

Book trailer for S E Maguire, Forest of Darkness
I provided original and customised imagery, the voiceover and a stock soundtrack
and of course, the final edited trailer.
